Introduction

  The College of Automotive Engineering of Jilin University was founded in 1955 and formally received its current name in 1986. It is an important base for talent cultivation and scientific research for China’s automotive industry. Its discipline of Vehicle Engineering is the earliest national key discipline in the automotive field of China. The College is home to a state Key Lab for Automotive Simulation and Control.

  There are more than 230 faculty members under the leadership of Professor Guo Konghui, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. There are two post-doctorate research stations, threeauthorized doctor degree subjects, sevenauthorized master’s degree subjects and four undergraduate majors of which our Vehicle Engineering major and Power Machinery and Engineering major have been designated as first key construction majors of Project 211.

  The College attaches great importance to academic exchange and collaboration at home and abroad and to building academic exchanges and collaborative relationships with universities and scientific research institutions around the world in order to enhance talent cultivation, scientific research, and to realizeother positive things for our school. Every year the College selects experts and scholars to go abroad to give lectures, attend international academic conferences, and carry out research abroad. The College has invited many famous experts and scholars from home and abroad to work as honorary professors and adjunct professors. Every year, we invite many famous experts and scholars, both domestic and international, to give lectures in our college and to enroll oversea students and visiting scholars from many countries and areas to come to our college to study and work.

Research

  The College of Automotive Engineering is both a cultivation base for high-level talent in the automotive industry of China and an R&D base for general automotive technology. The College has established scientific platforms for transportation and power engineering like its Automotive Model Design Center, its Automotive Test Center, its Automotive Performance Laboratory, its Energy and Power Engineering Laboratory, and the Automotive Parts R&D Center of Jilin Province. Since entering into the national project of Discipline Development Plan in Universities initiated by the Ministry of Education in 198, until the end of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan，based on National Key Lab for Automotive Simulation and Control.
