The Jilin University School of Philosophy and Sociology, established in 1995, has 4 departments: philosophy (established in 1958), sociology (established in 1989), psychology (established in 1995), and labor and social security studies (established in 2005). The School has two research bases: foundational philosophy theories research and theories of social development research. The School has one substantial research center: the Research Center for Foundational Philosophy Theories.
The School now has 573 undergraduate students, 344 Master students, and 247 Doctorate students. Most of the graduates work for the government, find work athigher education institutes, research organizations,or other enterprises and public institutions.They have maintained a high reputation both domestically and abroad.
Internationalization is an important developmental goal for our school. To that end, we have built up academic exchanges with more than 10 universities in the U.S., Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other countries, establishing an international communications network.
