Hosted by The Sports Bureau and The Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Changchun Municipal Government, cohosted by The Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Jiutai District and Jiutai Miaoxiang Mountain Skiing Resort, “2019 Jiutai Rural Commercial Bank Poverty Relief Cup Miaoxiang Mountain International Cross Country Snow Ground Marathon” was held on December 15. 64 JLU international students from 25 countries who loved marathon joined the event. Mohamed Addow Adan, a Somalian undergraduate from Class of 2017, won the championship of mini marathon. The students said that they were very happy to do something for the poor by joining the marathon. The scene of the rural area in Jiutai District along the track was very beautiful. It was very worthwhile to feel the happiness from the sport in the beautiful snow-covered scene.
This activity not only strengthened the friendship among international students, but developed their interest in sport. What’s more, the students fully experienced the spirit of marathon – perseverance and tenacity.
