Presenting Ceremony of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China to International Students
The presenting ceremony of the book Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume II) was held successfully at International Academic Hall on the central campus of Jilin University in the afternoon of June 5th. The ceremony attracted around 160 students from 45 different countries. Vice president Zheng Weitao delivered a speech at the ceremony. Committee of the Communist Party, Department of publicity and staff from College of International Education took part in the event. Li Meihua, the dean of College of International Education, hosted the event.
Zheng Weitao, Vice President of Jilin University, hopes that international students could comprehend the thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and Chinese Dream and grasp the idea of Chinese wisdom and Chinese plans of establishing a community of a shared future for humankind, promoting peaceful development and building a better world hand in hand. He also hopes that international students could gain great accomplishment at Jilin University and become the bridge builder of China and other countries, contributing to mutual development. Zheng presented Xi Jinping: The Governance of China (Volume II) in Chinese, English, and Russian to the representatives of international students.
MENSAH BRIGHT LUMOR, a graduate student from Ghana at SIPA of Jilin University said that china’s comprehensive national strength has been striding forward in the past four decades and many scholars recognize this as the Chinese Miracle. He wants to find the answer to how China become the second largest Economy Entity in such a short period in Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
After the ceremony, Wang Lifeng, a Ph.D. supervisor of School of Public Administration delivered a report entitled “China’s socialist party and government system with Chinese characteristics”. Wang explained Chinese civilization, the leadership of Chinese Communist Party, the founding of People’s Republic of China, the system of people’s congresses and socialist system with Chinese characteristics explicitly and thoroughly, all of which promoted international students’ further understanding of the socialist system of Party and government system with Chinese characteristics.
This ceremony is an important part of the event “Getting to know Chinese politics” for international students and it is highly welcomed by international students. College of International Education will hold relevant events in future, allowing international students to understand China comprehensively.
