On May 17th, 2015, the repechage round of the Aerobics Competition of Traffic Radio, Changchun Radio and TV Station was unfolding in Liu Laogen Grand Stage, and the competition was fierce. This aerobics competition lasted two months, involving 16 teams from various universities in Changchun. The “Foreign Gals” Team, formed by members from the International Students Art Troupe under College of International Education, presented a wonderful performance and, as expected, won the ticket to the final round. Their spirited aerobics performance demonstrated the youth, passion and unique charm of the international students in Jilin University and won many rounds of cheers and applause from the audience.
Foreign Gals Team was the only team of foreigners on the stage. They confidently and fully showed the youthfulness and beauty of university students as well as the enthusiasm and vigor of international students. In the final competition to be held on June 7th, they will present a more impressive performance with greater enthusiasm and show more people the charm of international students in Jilin University.
The 14 members of Foreign Gals Team are international students from School of International Chinese Language Education and School of International and Public Affairs. These girls are from Russia, Ukraine, Bahamas, Georgia and Argentina. Despite their differences in nationality and culture, they share the same enthusiasm. These lively girls are usually active participants of activities organized by International Students Art Troupe and have taken part in performances organized by the university for many times. Their wonderful performances could be seen in the 2014 Gala Celebrating the Tenth Anniversary of Confucius Institute, the Orientation Gala of the School of International and Public Affairs and the 2015 New Year’s Gala of Jilin University, etc.
This Traffic Radio Aerobics Competition is the first time that these girls have competed outside the campus. Before the competition, they made use of their spare time to painstakingly choreograph dance moves and patiently choose the music, trying their best to prepare themselves. They worked very hard on their dancing in the activity room of Youth League Committee and the classrooms of Friendship Guesthouse.
