On June 15th, 2015, the 2015 Graduation Gala of Jilin University took place in the recreational center of Nanling Campus. President Li Yuanyuan, Deputy Secretary of CPC Jilin University Committee and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Committee, Vice President Chen Gang and vice-president-level cadre Li Fan as well as heads of relevant departments were present.
Representatives of the university’s international students also took part in this great event. Mary from Belarus was one of the hostesses, and she also performed. “Hi Mickey”, a dance performed by international students from countries such as Russia, Ukraine and Argentina, was the first performance of this graduation gala. The exotic Indian dance “We Are from Bollywood” demonstrated the charm of Indian students and became a great highlight that pushed the atmosphere to a climax. International students and Chinese students, despite their differences in nationality, together sang “Wuhui nianhua” and expressed their best wishes for graduates.
After the performance, President Li Yuanyuan and Vice President Chen Gang kindly greeted the international students that had performed in the gala and fully recognized their performance. President Li Yuanyuan also asked about their study and life in Jilin University. When hostess Mary told him she planned to continue to pursue a master degree in Jilin University, he was happy and wished her a good time in the university.
Most of the international students that performed in the gala were members of the International Students Art Troupe, which was founded in May of 2015 and had won the champion in the aerobics competition organized by Changchun Radio and TV Station.
