On May 28, JLU held graduation ceremony for TCM Class of FAW-Volkswagen German Chamber of Commerce. 9 students from FAW-Volkswagen German Chamber of Commerce, some course teachers, and relevant stuff from JLU College of Int’l Education joined the ceremony. Li Meihua, dean of the CIE, presented the graduation certificates to the students.
This TCM Class started on May 7. As a research class, it was jointly launched by JLU CIE and FAW-Volkswagen German Chamber of Commerce for the families of FAW-Volkswagen German staff to know TCM culture. In nearly two months’ time, the students conscientiously learned basic TCM courses, such as preliminary TCM theories, diagnostics, Chinese pharmacology, acupuncture, manipulation, cupping therapy, etc. CIE also organized a visit for the students to the Traditional Treatment Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine. Guided by the medical staff of the hospital, students watched and experienced with great interest the treatment of Chinese medicine, and felt deeply the wonders of TCM.
After the ceremony, the students presented a cake with a Taiji Diagram to show their gratitude. They felt that in a short time of two months they had got to know better about TCM culture and its development and current situation. They hope to study more about TCM if they have a chance and make the unique charm of TCM known to more Germans.
