For the purpose of standardizing the management of undergraduate (college) examinations, ensuring the fairness and justness of examinations and enhancing the sound academic atmosphere of Jilin University, the present Regulation is formulated in accordance with relevant stipulations in the Higher Education Law of the People's Republic of China, Key Points of Higher Education Management, Provisions on the Administration of Students in Regular Institutions of Higher Education, Punishment Measures for Violations of Regulations in State Education Examinations and the reality of Jilin University.
Article 1 Any undergraduate (college) students enrolled at Jilin University shall attend examinations or tests of all modules they registered, and shall pass the examinations or tests to earn the academic credits of the modules.
Article 2 Students shall attend the examinations in the principle of honesty, faithfulness and fair competition, abiding by examination disciplines and maintaining the fairness of the examinations.
Article 3 Students will be admitted to the examination room with their valid ID documents including ID cards and student cards, sit at a desk in according to the seating plan, and put their ID cards and student cards in place for verification. Both ID cards and student cards are required. Any student who lost his/her ID documents should show a written certification issued by his/her Faculty/College, bearing a recent photograph of the student, student registration No. and an official stamp of the Faculty/College; otherwise, the student is not allowed to attend the examination.
Article 4 Students must be ready to be admitted into examination rooms twenty minutes before the commencement of the examination. Students arriving more than twenty minutes after the examination has started shall not be allowed to participate in the examination. Those who are absent from the examination without due causes are deemed as abandoning the examination without authorization. Students may not submit the exam papers and leave the room in the first half hour of the examination.
Article 5 Only ID documents and necessary stationery are permitted to be brought with the students for close-book examinations. In the event that the students have taken pencil bags (boxes), books, teaching materials, notes, papers, wireless telecommunication devices or electronic notebooks into the examination room, these materials should be put in place as required by invigilators and mobile phones should be switched off.
Article 6 Materials other than those required are not allowed to be brought into the examination room for open-book examinations. Students are prohibited from whispering with others or sharing books, notes or other materials related to the examination.
Article 7 Students are only allowed to wear traditional watches used for showing the time, and are forbidden from using telecommunication devices such as mobile phones, or electronic devices such as pocket PCs, electronic dictionaries to show the time. In case that any student brings these devices into the examination room by negligence, he/she should switch off these devices and hand them to the invigilator.
Article 8 After the exam papers are handed out, students should not ask invigilators questions related to the examination. If there are any errors on the papers or some contents are illegible, students may raise their hands to ask the invigilators in a low voice, and should not ask other students.
Article 9 Students shall comply with orders of the examination room, keep quiet and may not do things unrelated to the examination or go to the rest room while the examination is in progress.
Article 10 Students shall strictly abide by examination disciplines. If any student gets involved in misconduct or malpractice during the examination, the invigilator will mark “discipline violation” on the exam paper of the student, and record the violation. The student will score 0 in this examination, and will be given corresponding disciplinary punishment with view to the seriousness of the circumstance.
Article 11 Students should strictly observe the orders of the main invigilator and answer the exam questions within the stipulated time. All students shall immediately stop answering once the examination time is up, and hand in the answer sheets, exam papers and all related materials. All answersheets, exam papers and draft papers cannot be taken out of the examination room. Students leave the examination room under the instruction of the invigilators, and should not stay at the examination room for any reasons or communicate with others. Those students who submit their papers in advance should leave the examination room without delay, and are not allowed to stay or talk at the examination room.
Article 12 When the examination is in progress, all students shall collaborate with invigilators and other staff on supervision and inspection. Any misconduct or malpractice reported will be handled strictly in accordance with the Student Disciplinary Regulation of Jilin University.
Article 13 The Regulation shall enter into force on the date of promulgation. In the case of conflict with other provisions of Jilin University, this Regulation shall prevail.
Article 14 The Office of Undergraduate Education reserves the power of interpretation the Regulation.
