Introduction
Jilin University is a leading national university under the direct jurisdiction of China's Ministry of Education. The School of Nursing is one of the institutions under Jilin University. Founded in 1939 by Canadian thoracic surgeon Norman Bethune, the school is the earliest authorized school to offer master’s and Ph.D. programs in Nursing in Northeast China, with this major ranked as the 8th best in China. The school has highly qualified teachers who accord with developing international nursing trends and have rich professional backgrounds. The school has more than 50 full-time and part-time faculty members responsible for teaching general education courses, basic medical courses, and nursing courses. We work in close cooperation with well-known nursing schools in Canada, the USA, Australia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. We have also invited professors from well-known nursing schools overseas to stay as honorary professors and visiting professors. The school has opened an international full English instruction undergraduate nursing program. The school has six teaching and research divisions including fundamental nursing, medical nursing, surgical nursing, obstetrics and gynecological nursing, pediatric nursing and humanistic nursing, plus one nursing experimental teaching center. In addition, we are home to the Jilin Province Nursing and Rehabilitation Laboratory, the Jilin Province Health Department Key Laboratory of Nursing, the Nursing Management Training Center, and the Community Nursing Training Center. The School provides a good environment in which to cultivate open, creative, and outstanding international nursing talents.

Research
Our school has is home to the Jilin Province Nursing and Rehabilitation Laboratory, the Jilin Province Health Department Key Laboratory of Nursing, the Nursing Management Training Center, and the Community Nursing Training Center. Based on a nursing-centered multidisciplinary approach with which includes clinical medicine, basic medicine, computer science, electronic science and information science, the school has set up three research platform including chronic illness nursing intervention, nursing information, and nursing equipment. It is renowned for its advantages and for its exceptionalism and in the specialties of geriatric nursing and community nursing. The school undertook has undertaken more than 20 projects including a National Natural Science Foundation of China project, a National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science project, a Ministry of Education of humanities and social science research project, a Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Department project and a Development and Reform Commission project. We have published more than 50 SCI papers and wrote more than 10 national textbooks as editor-in-chief or editor.
International Collaboration Programs
Our school is conceived to be is open and comprehensive. To meet that end, we have established academic communication relationships with more than ten nursing schools in Canada, the USA, the UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The international cultivation mode of nursing talents and academic communication network has brought innovations to our nursing education contents, teaching methods, education quality standards, and research approaches. It has also actively promoted the standardization and internationalization of nursing education in China.
At present, our college participates in cooperative research programs with several internationally well-known universities.
