Introduction
Founded in 1951, the College of Basic Medical Sciences is an important teaching base for basic medical education and scientific research. The College has two authorized first- level discipline doctoral programs and seven authorized second-level discipline doctoral programs. The College boasts numerous excellent professors and scholars with advanced international expertise and a strong sense of responsibility, including National Teaching Master reward recipients, Scholar professors, and Tang Aoqing distinguished professors. Duringthe last three years, the College has undertaken more than 200 science projects at the national and provincial level and gained five scientific and technological awards at and above the provincial level. In terms of teaching, we provide undergraduate and graduate programs in all related basic medical areas. Moreover, the Laboratory Teaching Centre of Basic Medicine was approved as National Experimental Teaching Demonstrating Center in 2012 by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.
Right up to this day, the College has produced hundreds of international postgraduate students. Thanks to the high-level teaching of the College, the pass rate for our students taking the MCI (Medical Council of India) and USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) exams has increased significantly.
Internationalization is an important target for the development of the College. The College has established academic exchange relationship with more than 20 universities in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, etc.. We have established a robust international exchange and communication network.

Research
Our School helps to uphold the comprehensive advantages offered by Jilin University. It has already made research advancements in the fields of stem cell tissue engineering, tumor biology, immunity, infection, and tumor inheritance studies, new chronic disease fluid diagnosis and prevention technologies, and applied foundational research in medical purpose complete biodegradation materials and pharmaceuticals, and other aspects, providing it with advantages in the discipline. In the past five years, the School has received National Natural Sciences funding, including major research programs for the Ministry of Education and over 260 provincial-level program projects. In total, the School has received over 60 million RMB in funding. It has also published over 200 SCI-indexed articles and received 16 second place Chinese Medical Technology awards.
