On the morning of December 4, 2018, Djibouti Damerjog Industrial Development FZE (DDID) Officials’ Class inaugurated in Conference Room A850, Dingxin Building, Jilin University. Professor Wu Zhengwu, deputy president of JLU, Kang Yonggang, Party Secretary of School of Humanities, Professor Yue Hui, deputy dean of School of Humanities and dean of School of Int’l Chinese Language Education, Li Meihua, dean of College of Int’l Education, Li Dan, deputy dean of College of Int’l Education, and 12 students of the class led by Souleiman, deputy general manager of DDID, joined the inauguration ceremony. Li Dan presided over the ceremony and Professor Wu addressed it.
Deputy President Wu, first of all, expressed his warmest welcome to the 12 officials from DDID and Djibouti Free Trade Zone Administration Bureau. He then introduced JLU and the major contents of the class to the officials. He pointed out that China and Djibouti were building strategic partnership and deepening the cooperation in every filed. He hoped that in this class students would know more about the course and mode of China’s economic development, understand the strong China-Africa relationship built against the backdrop of “One Belt and One Road Initiative”, and make contributions to push forward China-Africa capacity cooperation and economic development.
On behalf of all the students, Souleiman and Li Houjun, director of DDID Economic Development Department spoke on the ceremony. They thanked JLU for this precious chance and Chinese government for the effort to strengthen China-Djibouti friendly exchange and promote China-Africa cooperation and development. They hoped, through this short-term class, they would know the current development of China’s economy, learn the advanced modes for development zone management and capacity cooperation and gain experience for Djibouti’s economic development and a better understanding for China-Africa cooperation.
The class will last 6 days and 12 students are all officials from DDID and Djibouti Free Trade Administration Bureau. Specialists and experts from JLU School of Int’l Chinese Language Education, JLU School of Economics, JLU School of Int’l and Public Affairs, and Changchun Airport Economic Development Zone will teach through lectures, Chinese lessons, etc. Students will have field trips to Changchun Municipal Government Affairs Hall, New Zone, Nong’an County, FAW, Jindou Group Jinyue Traffic Equipments Co. Ltd., Northeast Municipal Design Institute, etc. When the class ends, the students will go to Shanghai, Suzhou Industrial Park, and some enterprises for study and investigation.
