On January 14th, 2017, College of International Education took Kamrul and another five international students of Jilin University to participate in “I Am a Diplomat: Chinese Culture Year” activity. The purpose was to enrich international students’ extra curricular life and give them a chance to better appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture so that they could really love China and love Chinese culture. The activity was hosted by Jilin Province Training Center of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Jilin Hanban), and organized by Yinhe Campus of Changchun No.1 Experimental Primary School and US Oneworld Education Association, etc. The venue was Yinhe Campus of Changchun No.1 Experimental Primary School located on Qingchuan Street, Lvyuan District, Changchun. The activity included such cultural programs such as cultural experience, outdoor sports, quality development exercises and Model United Nations.
During the process, the international students first presented their country’s traditional culture via written words, pictures or performances. Then, guided by teachers of Yinhe Campus, they interacted with students, carrying out activities of traditional culture, such as learning Peking Opera and paper cutting.
Yinhe Campus is beautiful and the atmosphere during the whole process was lively and harmonious. After the activity was over, many international students expressed keen interest in Chinese culture. They hoped to have more such interactive experience activities so that they could better understand Chinese culture.
