All freshmen are experiencing dramatic changes in living environment after entering university. Collective accommodation and catering and frequent contacts with fellow students increase the risks of outbreak of communicable diseases. The most commonly seen communicable diseases at the campus include hepatitis, TB, bacillary dysentery, measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox, etc.
Once communicable diseases are found at the campus, the spread of these diseases will disturb the routine life and study of students. In order to effectively prevent the spread of the diseases, it is necessary for students to master the knowledge of heath care, raise awareness and skills of self-protection and develop sound hygiene habits. Students are expected to:
1. Ventilate your dormitories frequently; enhance air circulation; keep the rooms tidy and clean; hang your clothes and beddings outside under the sun regularly.
2. Do outdoor exercises frequently; breathe the fresh air, to build up your bodies.
3. Keep sound personal hygiene habits; wash hands after sneeze, cough or cleaning noses, then dry your hands by clean towels or tissues. Don’t share towels with others.
4. Balance your diets; take exercises regularly; be fully rested; relieve your burden and refrain from smoking; adjust your clothing to the weather; pay attention to cold protection; enhance your immunity.
5. When there is an outbreak of disease, reduce or avoid activities in crowded public areas with blocked air circulation. In case of any suspected symptom, do not take any drug by yourselves. Please see doctors in the hospital at the campus immediately, so as to prevent delayed treatment.
