In his remarks, Khan Abbas, a Pakistani student, said, “Your generosity has inspired us to help others and give back to the community. I hope again to be able to serve in some other position sometime in the future, where we might have even more of an ability to help. It is always a source of motivation for me to study hard.”
Hojo Hisami, an exchange student from Soka University Japan, said, “I am grateful for this precious chance, which will spur us to study Chinese culture. I’ve been dreaming of coming to China since I was a child. Finally, I get the chance by the time China is celebrating its 70th birthday. This is a very meaningful time. I will return to Japan in the coming January. I am very reluctant to leave here, but I have something very important to do. I will share with my family and friends Chinese culture, customs and traditions.”
At the end of the ceremony, representatives from international students gave their Thank-you placard and autograph album to the representatives from Jindou Group.
Jindou Scholarship filled the gap for the scholarship for international students. In 3 years since it was established, 230 international students from 25 countries have been awarded, including this years’ 85 students from 14 countries. The scholarship is intended to encourage international students, who are excellent in both character and learning, to stick to and realize their dreams and give back to the society. Culture goes beyond countries and exchange promotes prosperity. College of International Education will continue to work with enterprises like Jindou Group to jointly foster international talents and promote friendship among countries.
