In the afternoon of October 21st, the 2016 Seminar of China-Mongolia Business Cultural Integration Training Class was held in Jilin University. Attendees of the seminar were Pavlovskiy Kirill, the Vice President of Mongolian Employers’ Federation, and another 22 people in the delegation, Ha Yu, the head of the Office of China Aid Training Enforcement Office in Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), the Ministry of Commerce, Zhang Guangcui, Director of Division of International Relations, Li Meihua, Dean of College of International Education and some other relevant personnel and 23 staying students from Mongolia. Dean Li Meihua hosted the event.
First Li Meihua introduced the guests present. Then Ha Yu delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the Mongolians attending the class and expressed his hope that the classes given in Jilin University could make the cooperation and exchanges between China and Mongolia more practical. Zhang Guangcui briefly introduced the basic situation of Jilin University and the status quo of its exchanges with Mongolian colleges and universities. In his speech, Pavlovskiy Kirill, the head of the class expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of Jilin University and hoped to have more cooperation and exchanges in the future. Li Meihua gave an overview of international students in Jilin University and introduced the categories and schemes of scholarships. She also answered questions raised by class members on Jilin University’s policies of admitting international students. The class members also inquired about the study of Mongolian students in Jilin University, and earnestly and patiently answered students’ questions on career planning, the job market in Mongolia and the talents needed for economic and trade cooperation between China and Mongolia. They also welcomed students to come back and have internships in Mongolian enterprises upon graduation. During the process, short videos were played, such as the one introducing Jilin University and the one on the International Cultural Festival, which was one of the activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the university.
Jilin University has cooperation with Mongolian universities such as the National University of Mongolia and Mongolian State University of Agriculture. By July, 2016, Jilin University had cultivated altogether 110 students from Mongolia and currently it has 34 Mongolian students who mainly major in disciplines such as literature, law, economy and philosophy.
